A story woven by hand

HOW WE SEE IT

Made slowly. Made to last

The beauty is in the process

The beauty is in the process

Every Ibaba rug begins with skilled hands, natural wool, and techniques passed down through generations. From preparing the fibers and setting the loom to weaving, washing, and finishing, each step is carried out with patience and intention. No two pieces follow exactly the same path. Subtle variations in texture, weave, and tone are part of the process, traces of the hands that made them and the materials from which they were born. These natural imperfections are not corrected or concealed; they are what give each rug its individual character.Rooted in Morocco and shaped by generations of craftsmanship, our rugs bring together tradition and a more contemporary way of living. We work closely with skilled artisans, respecting the rhythm of handmade production rather than rushing it. The result is a rug designed not simply to fill a space, but to live within it  to soften with time, gather stories, and become part of the home for years to come.

Boujaad

Boujaad

Known for their expressive color and spontaneous patterns, Boujaad rugs are woven in Morocco’s Haouz region, where generations of artisans have developed a distinctive and deeply personal weaving tradition. Each piece is shaped by the hand of its maker, resulting in compositions that feel instinctive rather than perfectly planned.Rich reds, faded pinks, warm oranges and unexpected touches of color give Boujaad rugs their unmistakable character. Geometric forms often shift and evolve across the weave, while subtle irregularities make every piece entirely individual.Made to be lived with, these rugs carry the warmth of Moroccan craft into contemporary spaces, bringing color, texture and a sense of history without ever feeling fixed in time.

“Every rug carries the hand of its maker — a story told through color, texture, and time.”

Color by hand

The Art of Natural Color

Color is an essential part of Moroccan weaving. From rich earthy tones to deep, expressive hues, every shade becomes part of the rug’s character. Working by hand allows subtle variations to emerge naturally, giving each piece a depth and individuality that cannot be perfectly repeated. These variations are not imperfections, but traces of the process, a reminder that every Ibaba rug begins with materials, hands, and time.

MADE WITH INTENTION

“ What makes a handmade rug beautiful is not perfect repetition, but the subtle differences that reveal the hands behind it.”

Around the Office

Around the Office

A rug can completely change the feeling of a workspace, bringing warmth and softness to a room that might otherwise feel purely functional. Whether placed beneath a desk, centered in a home office, or used to define a larger shared workspace, the right rug adds character while creating a more grounded and inviting atmosphere. For a desk setup, choose a size generous enough to extend beyond the chair so there is room to move comfortably without catching the edges of the rug. Low-pile and tightly woven rugs work particularly well beneath rolling chairs, while softer, more textured pieces can bring warmth to quieter corners of the room. As with any working space, leave enough breathing room around the furniture, the rug should anchor the setting without making it feel crowded.

For the Entryway or Foyer

The entryway sets the tone for everything that follows. A thoughtfully chosen rug brings warmth and character from the moment you step inside, transforming a transitional space into one that feels considered and welcoming. Whether you choose a long runner for a narrow hallway or a distinctive vintage rug for a wider foyer, it is an opportunity to introduce texture, color and personality at the very beginning of the home.Because entrances naturally see more movement, placement matters as much as appearance. Leave a little space between the rug and surrounding walls to let the room breathe, and make sure doors can open freely without catching the surface. A rug pad can provide additional stability in high-traffic areas while helping the rug remain beautifully in place over time.
